Surrey Brass, the innovative and entertaing brass ensemble, was founded in August 2001 by John Goodwin exactly 50 years after the foundation of the ensemble it is modelled on, the world famous Philip Jones Brass Ensemble. They aim to follow the fine tradition of ensemble brass performance that PJBE originated, to widen the audience for this music, and provide enjoyment for everyone by means of musically varied and fun performance to a high standard.
